Trek

In July I had the opportunity to go on Trek. For thous of you who don't know what that is, it is a journey for 4 days and 3 nights, in Wyoming. You push a handcart. They weigh about 400 pounds... with all of your stuff on them about 700 pounds. You dress up as pioneers. You sleep on the ground with a tarp. You walk...and walk...and walk...and then you walk some more. They split you up into families. In my family I had a Ma and Pa and 11 brothers and sisters that I came to love. We went threw a lot together! The days we hot and long and the nights were wet and cold. Our feet were blistered and bleeding. As we walked I had a lot of time to think. I thought a lot about the Atonement. All the pain that I felt doing the woman's pull then walking another 6 miles with heat stroke then our had carts got lost and having to turn around and walk some more. It made me think that all the pain and sickness I was feeling at that moment Jesus Christ has felt for me. All the sins I have committed Jesus Christ has atoned from me. I have not always put my trust in the lord, but during that time I did. I knew that If i just kept going my heavenly father would get me back to camp. I know with all my heart the Lord helped my that day and I realized that he wants to help me in all aspects of my life...I just have to let him. He knows me. He knows my pain. He understands perfectly the trials I have been threw. He lives. Trek helped my become closer to the Lord. I also was able to make great friends and have great memories, like walking with my family for 2 miles barefoot. Every time I here the Hymn "Come, Come, ye Saints" I will think of the amazing experiences I had on Trek.

I love this post! It made me cry! Trek was a great experience. It was one of the best experiences of my life. You are simply amazing! You are so strong and you finished. You walked 6 miles with terrible heat stroke and undeniable faith. I have never been so proud of anyone... Thanks for setting such a great example... I love you and consider it a blessing to be your friend. You are truly amazing

Thank you for walking by my side for those 6 miles when I was sick. It was an emotional journey and I am so glad I got to share it with you. Love you!
